The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy or Sports Therapy services to patients, aiding in their rehabilitation and promoting overall wellness. Essential Attributes Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or higher in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy from a recognised institution. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and membership with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) are mandatory for Physiotherapists. Registration with the appropriate regulatory body, such as the Society of SPorts Therapists (SST) or the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) is mandatory. Experience: Demonstrable experience working as a Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist in a clinical or sports setting, preferably within a private practice. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a proven track record of working within an MDT and successful patient outcomes. Clinical Skills: Proficiency in conducting thorough patient assessments, formulating tailored treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions. Comprehensive knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions and their management is essential. Manual Therapy Skills: Strong hands-on skills in manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue mobilisation/sports massage, joint mobilisations, and therapeutic exercises to address biomechanical imbalances, muscle tightness, and joint dysfunction. Exercise Prescription: Expertise in prescribing exercises, corrective movement patterns, and injury prevention strategies to optimise performance, prevent recurring injuries, and enhance overall physical conditioning. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial. The ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to patients, caregivers, and colleagues in a clear and empathetic manner is necessary. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, surgeons, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment approaches. Desirable Attributes Specialisation: Additional certifications or training in areas such as strength & conditioning, paediatrics, acupuncture, electrotherapy or pilates would be advantageous. Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in CPD activities, workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to physiotherapy or Sports Therapy practice. Business Acumen: Basic understanding of business principles relevant to private practice, including patient management systems, appointment scheduling, billing procedures, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR). Patient-Centred Approach: A strong commitment to delivering patient-centred care with a focus on promoting autonomy, empowerment, and active participation in the rehabilitation process.
