Angela Carter

Angela Carter

Personal Trainer | Sports Massage Therapist

I am 62 years of age and having a wonderful time in my second career! At the age of 53 I decided to have a change and trained to become a Personal Trainer – and have never regretted a moment of that decision. It all started with wanting to run the London Marathon, which I did, and falling in love with training! I am now fitter than I have ever been.

I followed up with becoming a Sports Massage Therapist which is equally rewarding. I love a challenge and have completed several half marathons, climbed 8 Peaks in the Lake District in one day, Sweat-tember and totally changed my body shape with a 12 week transformation programme.

Currently I am planning walking the Pilgrims Way starting at Winchester and finishing at Canterbury – 113 miles.

So what about me… Well, I have been married for 43 years and have 2 adult children. This year we got a Lhasa Apso puppy, and as a Harry Potter fanatic I named him Albus Dumbledog… however we mostly call him Albie!

We also have an 8 year old cat called Geoffrey (named after the Toys R Us giraffe!) Albus and Geoffrey are still ‘getting to know each other!’

I enjoy working with clients of all ages and abilities, but have a particular interest in supporting and motivating more mature clients. Recently I have trained a lady who was, and is no longer, pre diabetic… one happy lady and doctor!

My oldest client is 91 years of age – she is an inspiration to us all! Over the years I have worked with people with disabilities and various injuries.

I find it beneficial to the client to work with any physiotherapists or Sports Therapist recommendations to assist them to achieve their goals. It is wonderful to get emails telling me that a client has got a second Personal Best time in their Park run or discover someone has lost 10 inches in size.

For me Personal Training is about…  supporting the client to reach their goals with a personalised programme that is fun and enjoyable to ensure enthusiasm to progress.
