Upon arrival to your initial consultation, please make your way into the reception area and take a seat. Your Therapist will come and greet you when they become available. A few things you can do to prepare for your appointment…

  1. Make a list of the symptoms you’re experiencing and that has caused you to make the appointment. You may wish to include other ‘odd’ symptoms that have also come on since.
  2. Think back to when your symptoms started and make a list of any changes that may have occurred in your life at the time that may be of interest (e.g. change in work, running trainer, exercise regime etc.)
  3. Make a list of medical conditions, allergies and medications that you have.
  4. Make a list of any questions that you want to ask at this stage.
  5. Consider what goals you would like to achieve from your sessions.

Therapy Clinic Initial Consultation

Your initial consultation will begin with a conversation with your therapist to discuss your case and your needs. Following this, a physical examination will be performed which will enable our therapists to form a working diagnosis. This will be explained to you, along with your recommended treatment options and an idea of expected outcomes.

We always try and allocate enough time to enable us to provide some form of treatment within this first session. This is accompanied by valuable advice so that you can help yourself progress day to day.

An hour is allocated for this initial session.  We would expect you to bring shorts and, for females, a strap top. This is because your therapist will likely need to inspect the area of injury, as well as other joints that may be contributing to your condition.

Please feel free to ask your therapist questions about your condition or the treatment you are receiving at any time and they will be happy to answer any questions you have.

If your therapist feels treatment is not appropriate for your condition or if further investigations are required, they will discuss this with you. They will then recommend what they deem the most beneficial options for you.

Personal Training Initial consultation

Your initial consultation will start with a discussion between you and your trainer, whereby they will determine your current activity levels, interests and training and fitness goals.

Your trainer will then take you through a thorough examination whereby they will be analysing your physical condition by means of a low intensity fit (VO2 Max) test, blood pressure, weight, body fat percentage, hydration levels, circumference measurements and postural & biomechanical analysis.

Together you and your trainer will form a training plan that fits into your daily schedule, maximising your chances of achieving your health and fitness goals.

James has been 'maintaining' my knees for over 10 years following a partial knee replacement. His expertise and knowledge is superb. I have regular acupuncture and treatment and as a result have been able to lead an active lifestyle, including skiing! I would highly recommend to anyone, James is professional, knowledgeable & incredibly friendly.

I had never been to a physio before I went to Charlotte this year, and she immediately put me at ease and explained the procedures comprehensively. Having struggled for weeks with intense and debilitating knee pain, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am now completely pain-free and am more active than ever. Highly recommend! Thank you Charlotte!

I came to Allsports after struggling to find a physio that had availability when I hurt my back at Christmas. Within one treatment the recovery was huge, and 4 sessions on I'm virtually pain free.

Having had upper back pain for well over 10 years and having tried a variety of suggested therapies/treatments (including 4 different physios, and osteopath and a chiropractor), none of which have made any long term difference to my pain, I turned to Allsports therapy as a final attempt to help my pain after many years of unsuccessful treatments. I was so impressed with the service that I got, Charlotte is friendly and welcoming, and easy to talk to. From my very first session she provided my with a full MOT for my back. Not only did she manipulate my back, but she also gave me a sports massage and really worked into my muscles to loosen them up. She suggested we tried acupuncture, which I was a little nervous about, but she reassured me, and the treatment was painless (barely felt it!) and effective. Without Allsports therapy, I would have paid for 3 separate treatment sessions for these three skills, but Charlotte has them all at her fingertips, and utilises them as needed after her assessment, therefore saving me a fair amount of money. Charlotte encouraged self care/ treatment in between the treatments, and provided a list of daily exercises and stretches. I have since been back to Charlotte several times and each time I come away feeling much more relaxed, comfortable and pain free. I would highly recommend Charlotte and Allsports therapy. If you think you've unsuccessfully exhausted all the options for your pain management, give Allsports Therapy a try. I think you will be nicely surprised...

James does a fantastic job at full-body fitness (and recovery from injury), seriously complementing anyone’s cardio fitness. I had never bothered with a personal trainer, but now I see I was 100% wrong all these years. Let the professionals assess what you need to work on. Paul was also brilliant as the physio in the early days as I recovered from a cycling injury, and the combination of both at Allsports is outstanding. I could not recommend them more highly.

Monika was really welcoming and professional. She took the time to discuss where I was needing treatment and focused on those areas. The massage was very effective as there was significant improvement after the first consultation. I would highly recommend Monika for anyone in need of a deep tissue massage/ or has a sports injury!

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to make your appointment, where possible please give your therapist at least 24 hours notice. This is so that your appointment can potentially be offered to another patient.

If you do not provide 24 hours notice or do not attend your scheduled appointment, you may be charged 50% of your appointment cost. We would prefer this not to be the case and would however much rather treat you or rearrange your appointment so please contact your therapist as soon as you know you can’t make your appointment.

If you do not have your therapist’s contact details, please contact the clinic on 07515 174462.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is not always an easy answer and often depends on the practitioner rather than the profession. For musculoskeletal conditions, both Physiotherapists and Sports Therapists provide full assessments to assist in understanding your condition.  Both professions will then provide appropriate interventions and prevention strategies based on the outcome of your assessment.

At Allsports Therapy, our Sports Therapists and Physiotherapist work much the same. You can  expect to be treated with the same approach and techniques.

Please get in touch if you are unsure who you need to see and we will discuss with you your options. Some of our team members have specialisms that are suited to certain types of injuries or populations. We will ask you some questions to help ensure you are recommended to the practitioner who would be most suited to treating you.

Absolutely! We aim to put you in control of your condition. It is imperative that your therapist helps you to understand the reasons as to why you have the pain you do and will guide you on specific strategies to help optimise your recovery.

Please ensure you work closely with them as the key to overcoming your condition will be a combination of their treatment along with your adherence to the advice and guidance.

Our patients are all self-funding. There are a number of reasons as to why we tend not to take on referrals from private medical insurers, which we would be happy to discuss with you.

We are more than happy to issue receipts following your appointment, upon receipt of payment, should you wish to claim this back through various means.

We accept payment in the form of card, cash, cheque or BACS transfer.
